| News Double award honours for Orbits Parkway  Parkway Business Centre, the prestigious location from Orbit Developments just a couple of miles from Manchester city centre, has scooped two high profile Awards from the British Parking Association and the UK Police. The Park Mark Safer Parking Award is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPOs) and the British Parking Association aimed at reducing crime and the fear of crime in parking areas. The Award is achieved following stringent risk assessments conducted by the Police with the parking operator required to put in place measures that help deter criminal behaviour. Parkway achieved accreditation following the rigorous series of inspections the Award criteria demands. My team worked closely with representatives from Greater Manchester Police to complete the rigorous inspection process which has been shown to significantly reduce the risks and fear of crime. The Secured by Design Award underlines the importance of natural surveillance along with routes that are direct and self-policing. Again Parkway came out on top!” The Orbit team was recently presented with its Secured by Design Award by Greater Manchester Police Chief Inspector Wasim Chaudhry at the Parkway site. Chief Inspector Chaudhry commented, “This is a significant achievement for Orbit and shows that their Parkway development ticks all the boxes for car park security. The commitment shown by the management team at Orbit has paid dividends with the acquisition of these two prestigious Awards.
