The Perfect Remedy for Manchester PCT (October 2008)
Manchester Primary Care Trust (PCT) has taken an additional 11,500 sq ft of space at Orbit Developments’ Parkway Business Centre. Expanding into Parkway 1, Manchester PCT will now occupy a total 36,500 sq ft at the business park.
The original deal saw Manchester PCT take 25,000 sq ft as its headquarters at Parkway 3 in September paying a rent of £13.95
Commenting on the letting, Tony Jones, managing director of Orbit Developments said “We are delighted that Manchester PCT has decided to take additional space at Parkway Business Centre. There has been high level of interest in the business park in 2008 and we have seen a number of significant deals totalling 59,398 sq ft, already this year. Despite current financial uncertainties Parkway is now nearly fully let with just one suite remaining of 3397sqft, which demonstrates the standard of office space and services that Orbit provides its tenants.”
Prominently situated on Princess Road, dubbed Manchester’s ‘Corporate Corridor’, Parkway is located just two miles from the city centre, main-line rail connections and Manchester Airport is only a fifteen minute drive away. It offers a combined total of 114,880 sq ft of office space, with over 500 car parking spaces, 24/7 on-site security, ’Café on the Park’, a complimentary shuttle bus and bicycles for the tenants to use at their disposal.
Rhys Owen, leasing and marketing surveyor at Orbit Developments who agreed the deal with Manchester PCT commented; “Parkway is one of our most sought after developments and offers the perfect solution for Manchester PCT’s growth and expansion plans. The PCT is extremely impressed by the great location of Parkway and the high standard of accommodation and services that we offer.”
This letting follows the recent deals to Potters Herbal Medicines and Adactus Housing, meaning only 3397 sq ft remains available compared to 88,000 sq ft a year ago.
